John "Mickey" Johnson is an associate at the Powell Law Firm. Mr. Johnson handles car and company vehicle wreck, work place injury, premises liability, and medical malpractice cases. He is also responsible for a docket of employment discrimination matters and commercial litigation disputes.
Mr. Johnson brings marketing and technology expertise from his prior career working as a Communications Coordinator for a national non-profit organization. His experience in this capacity helps him to present strong arguments as an attorney and strive under the pressure a small legal practice poses.
Prior to being admitted to the State Bar of Texas, he gained valuable experience in the areas of employment law and personal injury working as a Law Clerk for the United States Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and The Powell Law Firm. He is a graduate of the Trial Advocacy College of Texas, a member of the San Antonio Bar Association, San Antonio Young Lawyers Association, San Antonio Trial Lawyers Association and the Texas Trial Lawyers Association.
Mr. Johnson recognizes that the purpose of the legal system is to resolve disputes and find the best solutions to an endless number of criminal and civil problems, and believes that law is a necessary function of a democratic society. This fundamental system of advocating for clients and helping shape the law of our country is something he is honored to be a part of.
Mr. Johnson played college basketball at Spalding University before earning a Communications degree from University of Texas at San Antonio prior to receiving his Juris Doctor from St. Mary's University in 2017. While in law school, he was the Vice President of Marketing and Communications for the Democratic Law Students Association and a member of the Black Law Students Association.
Outside of the office, he enjoys spending time with his wife Katie and chocolate lab Bella, cooking, playing basketball and landscaping.
